Kathmandu, Remit to Nepal Pvt. Ltd. has signed an agreement with Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL) for automating its various payment processes, including disbursements and collections through NCHL payment systems. The agreement was signed by Mr. Santosh Bhetuwal, General Manager and Mr. Neelesh Man Singh Pradhan, CEO of NCHL.
With this, Remit to Nepal will now have access to various digital instruments under NPS through National Payments Interface (NPI), for automating its remittance transactions. Such transactions will be processed directly between the bank accounts of Remit to Nepal and its beneficiary/ customers at any BFIs or any wallets.Other options of disbursements for digital remittance through various other instruments of NPS will also be rolled out gradually.
NPI, as part of the National Payment Switch (NPS), is a consolidated interface for interconnection and operated by NCHL with access to real-time (RPS/ connectIPS) and non-real time batch (NCHL-IPS) payment systems. Ithas over 59 BFIs and 79 plus non-bank institutions. There are currently 13 remittance companies that are using NCHL’s payment systems as domestic rail for local disbursements through their respective settlement banks.
